L2 activity 2: Wedge christie
Integrated · steep green / easy blue · the wedge opens as the turn starts; the inside ski eases flat, changes edge just before the fall line and joins the outside ski, finishing parallel and skidding. Switch to the mistake to see the inside ski lifted to match. Drag the large view to orbit.

What the examiner looks for
Passing · The inside ski flattens, then changes edge after the turn has started, and matches the outside ski; matched and parallel through the finish.
Cue · “Open, turn, then let the inside ski join.”
Key movement · The inside knee and ankle roll the ski nearly flat as the turn starts, then onto the new edge just before the fall line. Watch the inside-ski row go from wedge edge to flat to new edge.
Lead-ups · Wedge to christie on one side only; garlands (wedge entry, match, sideslip).
Mistake · Stepping or lifting the inside ski to match: it leaves the snow, the outside leg carries all the weight, and the inside ski never rolls to its new edge on the snow.
Fix · Flatten it and steer it in; let speed do the work.
A simplified, illustrative model on the same wedge-turn model: the right way flattens the inside ski as the turn starts, re-edges it just before the fall line and matches it on the snow, staying parallel through the edge change; the mistake lifts the inside ski soon after the turn starts and matches it in the air. Angles, loads and efforts follow the shape of real technique but are not measured data.
