Exam: PSIA-NW Alpine Level 2 Skiing module, Summit Central, Wed 2027-03-17 (registered).
Movement Analysis/Technical and Teaching modules: next season.
Scoring: 3 criteria (Integrated, Individual, Versatility), 1-6 each, each needs an average of at least 4 (no rounding).
The week
- 2 days on snow a week: one own-skiing day, and one day teaching (L1) plus 1.5 h of school training.
- Teaching day: beginner demos are wedge turns and wedge christies, so make every demo exam quality. At training, ask the trainer to watch one activity.
Phases, in order
- Pre-season (now until Summit opens): dryland 3 times a week, learn the 13 activities cold, watch reference video of each.
- Baseline (first 2 days on snow): film every activity once, score each 1-6, pick the 3 biggest gaps.
- Build (December to mid-February): one gap a week. Own day: the gap's drills, the integrated set, versatility runs, and film 2-3 activities. Versatility in variable snow whenever conditions allow.
- Mock (mid-February to early March): 2 full mock days, all activities in exam order, filmed and scored.
- Taper (Mar 8-16): Central terrain, the activities only, light dryland, rest on Mar 16.
